Caffeine figures come from each can's label; coffee, espresso, tea and cola use USDA typical amounts. The FDA says up to 400 mg a day is generally not linked to negative effects in healthy adults. The American Academy of Pediatrics says children and teens should not drink energy drinks at all. “In your system” assumes an average 5-hour half-life; real half-lives run from about 2 to 10 hours.
